Berwick Sewer Upgrade

We're planning to invest up to £120 million in the Berwick area to help improve local rivers, coastal waters and our wastewater network. Over the next five years, we'll carry out a range of improvements to help reduce spills from storm overflows and enhance water quality in the River Tweed, Spittal Beach and surrounding coastal waters.

In the coming months, you'll see more of our teams working in the area as we carry out surveys to help plan these improvements. Some temporary traffic lights may be needed at times, but we'll work closely with Northumberland County Council to keep any disruption to a minimum and keep local communities informed.
