Wynyard Booster Station
At Northumbrian Water, improving the resilience of our assets and enhancing the service we provide to our customers are important to us. As part of this commitment, we are working with our supply partner, United Living to undertake upgrade works on the water network in Wynyard with the installation of a Water Boster.
A water booster is a facility used to increase water pressure in a water distribution system, especially in areas where natural pressure is too low to meet demand. These stations are essential for ensuring that water reaches homes with sufficient pressure.
The initial phase of works will start on 3 November 2025, subject to operational changes, and includes the positioning of the Kiosk and associated pipework for the Booster Station kiosk on Stoney Wood Drive.
Subsequent works, including the installation of electricity to the booster kiosk will also take place before final commissioning is completed. Further information will be provided on this as the project develops.
Once complete the station will measure approximately 2.25m Height, 1.99m Width and 1.40m Depth.
Start Date: November 2025
Estimated End Date: April 2026
Partner: United Living
Additional Information
We are proposing to put trees, shrubs or fencing around the booster to obscure the unit from neighbouring properties and to ensure it blends in with the surrounding area.
