Community Hub Admin Team •7 months ago Hi all,We thank you for your patience regarding the delay to the improvement works planned in Tursdale for the start of this year. As the project team were nearing their construction start dates, it became apparent that there was a risk that the chosen route would not be suitable due to congestion with unchartered services along Thinford Road. A decision was taken prior to Christmas to halt planned works and investigate a re-design. As you can appreciate, a redesign involves several complexities. Our Engineers needed time to confirm a new route, our Ecologists had to complete surveys of the revised area, and the planning documents required updating and resubmission. As the team have worked through this, we are now able to look to finalise the dates for construction. Below I offer an update on the current proposed dates. Please note that these dates are not yet confirmed, as we still need to obtain the necessary permissions from the council. They are however the dates that we are aiming to achieve and offer you the best insight into our upcoming works:
26 – 27 Jan 26 – Surveys to be conducted in the Field by the compound. No Traffic Mitigation required.
13 Feb 26 - circa 27 April 26 – Construction Works in the Field – No Traffic Mitigation required.
May / Mid June 26– Work in the field for the Pipe Bridge and along the adjacent road to the Pub for the connection to the septic Tank. 3 Way Lights Required. Access to the The Old Mill pub will be always maintained.
Mid June 26 – Project Complete.
I must impress that the huge benefit to investigating a re-design in the field is the fact that a full 16-week road closure along Thinford Road would be no longer required. The Construction Method in the field is also quicker than along the road, therefore the project’s construction programme duration is expected to reduce compared to the original plan.We thank you for your patience and as and when permissions are obtained and dates are confirmed, we will be in touch to update you with our progress.
