As part of a £11 million scheme, we will be carrying out essential work to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Long Newton, Goosbeck and Middleton area. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the these areas for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

Go Vocal Admin10 months ago Hello all,Important update on work in your areaThe team have commenced and completed the removal of Oak Tree compound and access haul road, including the topsoil reinstatements along with the removal of our temporary site entrance off Yarm Road. Following previous topsoiling operations, we have continued with cultivating and seeding which are now partially complete with the remainder due to be carried out over the next couple of weeks.New pumps have been installed and flows turned to Goosebeck, with final commissioning carried out by our contractor Retroflo.Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.comThank you for your patience and support throughout these works.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Hello all,Important update on work in your areaThe team have now commenced with topsoil reinstatements in various locations across the scheme, including Long Newton Lane, A67 and land close to the airport. Goosebeck to Mill Lane has begun and will be completed in the coming weeks.Goose Beck STWBoth rising main connections are complete including the new 225 diameter drainage. All the groundwork and concrete edges are now finalised with the installation of the beams to the overflow chamber.The new access road, which is in three sections has been excavated, stone added and concreted. Excavation and installation of the four concrete bases is achieved in readiness for the new posts. Electrical works continue, installing cabling, sensors and isolator in readiness for commissioning. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago The team are progressing well, with the rising main works and the completion of new high point discharge chamber. The remaining 225 diameter gravity drainage is also complete leaving just the two connections to the valve slabs.Work within Goose Beck Sewerage Treatment Works continues with the excavation and installation of the ducting from the new draw pits to new overflow chamber, ready for cabling for the proposed new UMON 2.The team have installed the Wet Well beams and our contractor Retroflo have completed the Valve slab pipework, supports along with cable works and glanding to the new MCC which is almost complete in readiness for the power supply.Connection pipework has been installed at Long Newton Sewerage Treatment Works from the new valve slab with pipework to the new valve/vertical pipework on the existing networks to tie in.Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago This week the team continue to test the new installed pipework as well as the Under Track Crossing (UTX) pipe which has been pressure tested and passed.The valve slab is now installed including the steel fixing to the wet well.Track monitoring is in place and will continue over the coming weeks.Saturday 8 March 2025 the team will be working along the railway track to demobilise equipment from site. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago As you might have noticed, we are now back on site, with works continuing on the Rising Main. The last two remaining directional drilling works have been completed along with the associated Rising Main Pipework. All the Rising main Pipework across the scheme is now installed with the exception of the wash out chambers and pressure testing the system which is scheduled to commence this week.The crew have installed the overflow chamber with the extraction/removal of all the drive pit shoring. The 300-diameter overflow pipework to the existing overflow pipeline is ongoing in readiness to construct new online manhole.All the drainage and manholes have been installed up to proposed new discharge chamber with the exception of approx 15 meters of pipework. Topsoil reinstatements are being carried out.The new MCC Kiosk base has been completed with our contractor Retroflo on site to install the Kiosk, with the MCC to follow at a later date.
