Two Northumbrian Water employees working

East Tanfield Environmental Improvements

Project Overview

At Northumbrian Water, we're committed to protecting and improving the environment. That's why we're investing in projects that help improve water quality and reduce the use of storm overflows.

As part of the national Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP), we're carrying out investigations, monitoring and improvement work to help keep our rivers, lakes and coastal waters clean and healthy.

East Tanfield is one of several locations where we've identified an opportunity to make a real difference. By carrying out improvements in the area, we can help reduce spills into local watercourses and support a cleaner, healthier environment.

The project will help protect local rivers, wildlife and natural habitats, while delivering long-term benefits for the community and the environment.

Our goal is simple: cleaner water, healthier rivers and a better environment for everyone.
