Storm Overflows Environmental Improvements

To improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Northumbrian Water is investing in the overflows in West Rainton, Ludworth, Bishop Auckland and Skelton. This work will ensure we deliver sewerage services that meet the needs of current and future generations whilst improving the quality of our rivers and watercourses for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Go Vocal Admin8 months ago Hi everyone,Over the last several weeks, we have been completing the drainage run outside of Lingdale Village Hall.We have now completed the temporary works and installed the manhole in the verge on Stanghow Road. The drainage run from manhole 6 to manhole 7 in Stanghow Road has now been completed. Go Vocal Admin9 months ago Hi everyone, We are currently working on Stanghow Road digging a trench to install a 225mm drain using 2 way traffic lights. We are also excavating a trench within the Parish council land including the Parking Bays to lay a 450mm drain. Parking bays will have road plates applied after excavation work for access to maintain access to the Village Hall. Residents of Meadowdale Court still have access for parking. Go Vocal Admin10 months ago Hello all,Important update on work in your areaEtherley Lane, Bishop AucklandWork continues on Etherley Lane, with traffic management on the junction of Barrington Meadows using 3-way lights. The crew are installation new drainage and manholes within the traffic management. Reinstatements will begin next week with 50 meters being completed on Etherley Lane and 11 meters on Barrington Meadows. Footpath, curbs and verge work will be reinstated once all work is finalised. Prior to demobilisation of the site compound, which is expected to be mid-July, CCTV and cleansing of the network will be arranged. Our team will continue to work weekends to progress with work. Go Vocal Admin10 months ago Good MorningThe team are making good progress around Lingdale.Auger Bore works are still in progress on high street to Stanghow Road, moving into Meadowdale Court week commencing 16 June 2025. Works will take approximately 4 weeks in this area and will include a parking bay suspension at the Village Hall.The installation of pipework at the top of Balmoral Road will be complete by Friday 13 June, moving to the final stretch of pipework at the bottom of Balmoral Road.Pipework installation on Stanghow Road will start week commencing 16th June for approximately 10 weeks using a rolling traffic light system.Should you have any questions please comment on this page or contacts us at NWL.Customer@esh.uk.com.

Go Vocal Admin11 months ago Good MorningAs the team continue their works around Lingdale, here is a brief overview of how works are progressing.The last of the pipework installation on Sandringham Road is in progress and is estimated to be complete by Friday 16th May. From Monday 19th May, we will be starting pipework installation on Windsor Avenue, meaning a road closure will be in place.We are currently installing pipework from the Junction of Balmoral Road, through the roundabout and over the crossroads so there are currently two-way traffic lights in place.Should you have any questions please comment on this page or contacts us at NWL.Customer@esh.uk.com.We will continue to keep you updated as works progress.Regards,Alice Blackett

The working areas have been reinstated although it may take a little time to fully establish, we appreciate your understanding while nature takes its course. Stanghow Road, LingdaleThe road closure will be repositioned on Sandringham Road to the junction of Balmoral Road starting Monday 28 April, residents impacted by our work have been informed. The attenuation tank has now been completed and topsoil reinstatement will begin over the coming weeks. A priority system will also be in place from the roundabout on Balmoral Road to Whitwell Place, High Street, while the team complete further investigation and surveys. Etherley Lane, Bishop AucklandAs mentioned previously work had been placed on hold due to urgent work in the area. Our team will return to site from Monday 28 April 2025. Traffic management will be in place on Etherley Lane using 2 way traffic lights. Throughout the work our team may be required to work weekends as the work progresses. The site team typically work Monday to Friday, if it is necessary to work weekends the team will work between 8.00am and 16.30pm. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Stanghow Road, LingdaleWe have now completed the new drainage installation works on Balmoral Road and the road closure has now been lifted. From Monday 17th March, a new road closure has been implemented on Sandringham Road whilst we complete the next section of Pipework. We will be carrying out survey works on the roundabout between Balmoral Road and High Street, week commencing 24th March for approximately 4 weeks. We will have crew members on site who will ensure the area is safe for road users to maneuver.We continue to work on the Attenuation Tank on Staghow Road and the works on the Meadow are still on hold until all pipework has been installed. The area remains safe for the general public until further works commence.Pithouse Lane, Leamside All major civils work is now complete. Although a small site presence remains, the compound area will be demobilised and reinstatement work will be carried out once we have some drier weather.Finchale View, West RaintonAll major civils works are complete and the compound has been demobilised We will return to reistate the working area once we have some drier weather.Moor Crescent/Barnard Avenue, LudworthEsh Stantec will complete all final reinstatements on Moor Crescent and Barnard Avenue starting Monday 24 March 2025 and expect this to be completed within 1 week, weather permitting.The site compound located on Moor Crescent will begin demobilisation from Monday 31 March 2025 and we expect this to be completed within 2 weeks.Etherley Lane, Bishop AucklandFrom Saturday 22 March 2025, the team will be working weekends for a period of 6 weeks. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Stanghow RoadThe work taking place on the edge of the Meadows is scheduled to be completed by Friday 21 February 2025. All work at this point will be backfilled and will be reinstated once the weather picks up. There will be no work taking place at the Meadows over the near future until other works have been completed near by. We will endeavour to maintain the site while there is no work taking place. There is a public right of way through the Meadows that will stay open and maintained.The road closure remains in place on Balmoral Road up to the Junction of Windsor Crescent. This section is scheduled to be complete on Friday 21st February when we will then move up to the next section of pipe.The works on the attenuation tank are still progressing nicely. The team are still working within the field constructing Manholes and installing concrete to pipe work. On 3rd February we will be working within the public highway constructing manholes. Traffic management will be in place using 2 way traffic lights and expect this work to be complete within 10 working days.We currently have 4 way traffic lights on the junction of Stanghow Road and High Street whilst we carry out trial hole surveys. These traffic lights are expected to be removed on Friday 21st February. Pithouse LaneAll drainage works are now completed with only the compound removal and field re-instatement works to be carried out once the weather permits.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Stanghow Road, Lingdale On week commencing 10 February 2025, we will be conducting some further Survey Works in the town. This will not affect public roads or footpaths.We continue to work on Balmoral Road installing the new pipework. We have installed the first section of pipework and have now moved further up the road to install the next section. We are still carrying out excavation works on The Meadow in preparation for the new pipework.We are excavating for 675mm pipe and a 3m manhole in the location of the Attenuation Tank.Pithouse LaneAll drainage works are now completed with only the compound removal and field re-instatement works to be carried out once the weather permits.Finchale ViewDrainage installation ongoing with the completion of drainage and removal of the compound planned to be completed by the end of next week. As with Pithouse Lane the field re-instatement will have to wait until early spring prior to completion.Moor Crescent/Barnard AvenueBarnard Avenue pipework continues with the final connections being installed in the coming weeks.The new storm pipe on Moor Crecent continues to progress down the bankside.Once all work has been completed a full clean up of the road will be completed including reinstatements.Etherley Lane, Bishop AucklandThe 2 way traffic management on Etherley Lane will be repositioned Thursday 20 February, and the road closure will be moved to the other entrance. Access for residents on Ediscum Garth will continue to be maintained.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Stanghow Road, Lingdale, Saltburn by the SeaOver the past couple of weeks we have been carrying out trial hole surveys on the meadow within existing manholes. We have now moved on to excavating the area for the new drainage system.We are making good progress with the drainage works on Balmoral Road where we currently have a rolling road closure in place. We are hoping to have the first section of pipework completed week commencing 3 February 2025, when we will then move on to the next section of pipework.We are currently laying the pipes to the Attenuation Tank, and are currently on row 5 of 12. We are on programme to complete the tank works by the end of next week before we backfill the pipework.Further trial hole surveys will be carried out on Balmoral Road starting on Wednesday 5th February 2025 for 2 days using 2 way traffic lights.Pithouse Lane, LeamsideAll drainage works and benching to manholes are now complete. The CSO screen is to be installed by the end of January when we will then start on reinstatement works.Finchale ViewWe have connected up to the existing manhole and completed the first drain run. We are excevating ready for installation of the manifold this week and new sotrage drain runs will be installed in the upcoming weeks.Moor Crescent/Barnard AvenueBarnard Avenue pipework is progressing quickly, although the team have faced uncharted services outside of their control. The team continue to reposition the road closure as work progressing.The new storm pipe on Moor Crecent is now past the bend, before progressing down the bankside. The road closure on Moor Crescent remains in place while works progress. The road surface will be reinstated once all work is completed. I would like to thank you for your patience during our works.Etherley Lane, Bishop AucklandThe team have been pushing through the elements the last couple of weeks and have now installed the first section of pipework. Traffic management will remain on the road using 2 way lights for 9 weeks, to allow completion on the pipe safely. The team are monitoring work and noise while on site, due to the proximity of our neighbours. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Stanghow Road - Lingdale, Saltburn by the Sea As you might have noticed, we are now back on site and you are likely to see a lot more of the construction team as we work through the first few months of the year.We are currently working on the Meadow and preparing for the installation of the new storm drain. We have installed safety fencing around our working area with a crossing point for the general public and dog walkers to continue to make use of the Meadow whilst works are in progress. We have implemented a rolling road closure on Balmoral Road whilst we carry out our pipework installation. We would like to thank all residents for their cooperation.Our team are currently carrying out excavation works for the Attenuation Tank on Stanghow Road.Survey works on Stanghow Road will be carried out week commencing 20th January 2025, where 2-way traffic lights will be in place.We have also been busy carrying out survey works this week on Sandringham Road and the 2-way traffic lights will be removed today, Friday 10th January. Further survey works will be carried out throughout January in various parts of Lingdale. 2-way traffic lights will be in place on Monday 13th January on South Stanghow Road for 3 days. There lights will then move further south on Stanghow Road on Wednesday 16th January for 2 days.We would like to thank all residents of Lingdale for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out these works.Moor Crescent/Barnard Avenue, LudworthThe team have continued to install the new pipework along Barnard Avenue within 40 metre sections to minimise disruption. Due to the cold weather the last couple of weeks, the team have experienced unforeseen delays with concrete deliveries but are positive they will remain on track.Etherley Lane, Bishop AucklandWeek commencing Monday 06 January the team have begun the set up of the compound area, you may see the occasional increased deliveries bringing in materials and equipment. This week the crew have begun trial holes in order to understand ground conditions and services within the area. While work progresses on Etherley Lane, the team will be working within 2-way traffic lights. Pithouse Lane, LeamsideAll drainage works and benching to manholes are now complete.
