Go Vocal Admin•1 year ago Hi everyone, We are writing to inform you about upcoming work in your area as part of the Northumbria Integrated Drainage Partnership (NIDP). Northumbrian Water (NW), Durham County Council, and the Environment Agency are collaborating with local communities to reduce the risk of flooding to homes and businesses while also protecting the environment. Our trusted partner, Seymour’s Construction, will be conducting the work on behalf of NW.As part of this project, we need to conduct trial pit surveys in your area, including one near your property within the carriageway.Details of the Works:Excavation works, are scheduled to begin on 23 July 2025 and are expected to be completed by 8 August 2025. The work area will start at the cul-de-sac on The Leas and continue onto the lower road of the Leas, bearing left from the cul-de-sac and extending past the junction on the right up onto the Meadows. The survey will not be outside of your home for the entirety of this period.Please refer to the attached map which highlights our working area as defined by the red line.During this period, a temporary road closure will be in place on a section of the carriageway between The Leas and The Meadows. Unfortunately, vehicle access will not be permitted within the working area, but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.We appreciate your understanding as we conduct these important works, which will help to protect homes in your area.
