Saltwick Booster Station

At Northumbrian Water, improving the resilience of our assets and enhancing the service we provide to our customers are important to us. As part of this commitment, we are working with our supply partner, United Living to undertake upgrade works on the water network between Pickwick Cross and Saltwick.

The initial phase of works will start on 21 May 2025 and last approximately 3 weeks, subject to operational changes, and includes the casting of a plinth and associated pipework for the Booster Station kiosk.

Subsequent works, including the positioning of the Water Booster Station and the installation of electricity to the booster kiosk will also take place before final commissioning is completed. Further information will be provided on this as the project develops.

Community Hub Admin Team 3 weeks ago Hi everyone, We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while we completed a full review of the proposed water network improvement works.Following careful consideration of all feedback received, along with further site assessments and planning work, we can confirm that the proposed water booster station will now be relocated from its originally suggested position.The booster station will instead be positioned on adopted land by the roadside between Greystoke Place and the entrance to Start Up Farm, as per the below images. This revised location has been selected to minimise impact and to address the concerns raised during consultation.We appreciate the time and thought that residents took to share their views, and we would like to reassure you that these directly informed our decision‑making process.We will continue to keep you updated as the project progresses and will share further information in due course.Thank youThe Project Team

Go Vocal Admin6 months ago Hi all, Further to our previous update, we would like to inform you that we will be returning to site on 17 October 2025 to install the kiosk as part of the ongoing improvements to local water pressure.We anticipate that these works will take approximately three days to complete. During this time, two-way traffic lights will be in operation to ensure the safety of both our team and road users.Please note that once the kiosk is in place, we will return at a later date to complete the electrical connection to the booster station.We apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding.The Project Team

This will involve digging out and casting of the water booster plinth. In anticipation for the booster itself being installed over the coming weeks two way traffic lights will be in situ throughout the course of the 3rd of July.
