Pegswood Sewage Treatment Works

At Northumbrian Water, protecting the environment is one of our top priorities. As part of this commitment, we are investing £9.4 million in Pegswood to upgrade our sewer network and improve the local Sewage Treatment Works.

This project forms part of a wider programme to strengthen the resilience of the wastewater network, helping it cope better with future demand and changing weather patterns.

The work includes:

• Installing around 1.5km of new pipeline
• Upgrading storm overflows in the Pegswood area

Together, these improvements will help reduce the risk of sewer flooding and protect the local environment, now and in the future.
