Lanchester Sewage Treatment Works

As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing chemical dosing plant (ferric sulphate and sodium hydroxide) and a new tertiary treatment stage to enable the site to meet the forthcoming phosphorous discharge consent. The improvement works will cost around £6.4m, and it’s one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive this upgrade. Phosphorous is a nutrient and can cause algae to grow in watercourses, reducing biodiversity and river water quality.

Go Vocal Admin8 months ago Hi everyone, I’m pleased to share that we are now approaching the final stages of the upgrade to the Lanchester Sewage Treatment Works.You may have noticed increased activity over the past few weeks, as our Site Team carries out the remaining works and begins demobilisation of the site. All activity will continue to take place within our site boundary, and while I do not anticipate any disruption, you may experience a slight increase in noise levels and site traffic during this time.If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.Thank you once again for your continued patience and cooperation as we complete this essential work.Best regards,Bethany

The second of the last two pipes lines has just been installed (Manhole 25 to Manhole 28) and then we'll do the NSAF recirculation line from the NSAF to the inlet chamber. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago I wanted to provide you with an update on the progress made here on Site. We have seen yet more great work by the Team, including the continuation of concreting the new roads and paths throughout Site. The works for intelect are ongoing and the Team began tankering out the reed beds again on Friday 14th February and this went on into the following week. The Hydrok metal work has been arranged for Monday 24th March. NEPS have been on Site to finish up their works and measure up for stilling pipe. The Chemical delivery is due this week.The Site Team will ensure a regular tidy up and clearance of the Site is carried out.Should there be any questions you’d like to ask a member of the Project Team then please feel free to add a comment in the box below!
