Hury Reservoir

Project Overview

We're investing £15 million in Hury Reservoir to help ensure it continues to provide a reliable water supply for local communities and the wider region.

Hury Reservoir is part of a network of reservoirs in the River Balder valley. These reservoirs play an important role in supporting water supplies, maintaining river flows, and generating renewable energy.

To keep the reservoir operating safely and effectively for years to come, we'll be carrying out a programme of improvement works between June 2026 and June 2029.

For safety reasons, work will generally take place between March and November each year.

These improvements will help ensure Hury Reservoir continues to provide a reliable supply, supporting customers, local communities, and the environment both now and in the future.
