Great Broughton Sewage Treatment Works

At Northumbrian Water, looking after the environment is one of our top priorities. As part of this commitment, we are working with our supply partner, Mott MacDonald Bentley to undertake upgrade work at Great Broughton Sewage Treatment Works (STW) to improve the performance of our wastewater treatment. This essential work will help to improve water quality and ensure that the treatment facility continues to serve the community effectively.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Now that we are nearing completion of the Great Broughton STW Upgrade, I wanted to provide an update on the progress we have made:All major components have now been installed, tested and commissioned with only minor elements of the work remaining; these will be completed within the next few weeks.Our office and Site welfare cabins have been downsized and replaced with a single welfare unit, reflecting the small amount of work remaining.Should you have any questions regarding the works, please don’t hesitate to add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond accordingly.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago I wanted to provide an update on the works that the Team have carried out since returning from the Christmas Break, some great progress has been made for sure.Armah modifications in the existing MCC panel have been completed to allow PLC testing and the IDEC have commissioned the PLC. Intellect have pulled the cables and dressed same to storm pumps; outstation panel fitted to wall of MCC. Inlet wingwall shutters have been completed to the west side, the concrete has been poured, and shutters stripped. The coping stones were replaced to the North end of storm overflow tank and abandoned inlet channels grouted up.The Selwood over pumping was off hired and the pumps removed. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago I wanted to share a final update on the Great Broughton Sewage Treatment works. The Team have been continuing with their progress and this is an excellent end to the year. Rising main pump plinth 2 reinforcement installed and concrete has been poured. Rising main 2 Stainless Steel suction pipework installed Rising main 1 Stainless Steel inlet pipework installed Storm tank footpath and aco drainage constructed. Inlet channel cored through to confirm reinforcement depth, good news no change to our current design required. Prepped road and chambers ready for final road pour this week. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago We are now on Site and fully operational. The first few weeks have seen some great progress and hard work made by the Site Team, so I wanted to share this progress with you on today’s update. All of the reinforced concrete has been removed and the trench dug along the through Site to allow the ducting, wash water and PE rising mains which has been installed. Installed new 250di primary effluent pipe across the road ready to connect onto Material laydown area is complete along with topping off with tarmac plainings. 10no valves delivered from Affco Positive review of the level 1 plan with the Site Team.
