Eppleby Sewage Treatment Works Upgrade

We are investing £2.5 million to improve the performance of our sewage treatment works at Eppleby. The work will involve an upgrade of the inlet system, process units and flow monitoring. This will aid NWL in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago This is our first update of 2025 for the Eppleby Sewage Treatment Works, and I’m pleased to report that the team on Site have continued with the great progress, and I wanted to share this with you.The electrical works are progressing as planned and the concrete surround and footpath prep around the Humus Settlement Tank (HST) are well underway.The additional manhole for diverting flows to the HST has been installed and the distribution chamber weir is complete and 50% benched.Moving onto the remaining duct chambers, I am pleased to advise that these are now complete.Time critical works for the balance tank and floating arm installation were completed without issues on 20th January.As always, if you have any questions regarding the works then please don’t hesitate to add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond accordingly.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago I wanted to share some great progress with you, that the Team on Site have continued to deliver. The new MCC kiosk has been installed JHT attended to fit the steel grate flooring inside the MCC and they also installed the new balance tank. O’Connor Utilities came in to install the new mains cable for the site On Friday 13th December. Intelect attended to in pull in the cables The surround to the PS Tank and inlet manhole has now been concreted. We have built up most of the draw pits with brickwork and started installing the new lids.

Go Vocal Admin1 year ago Further to my previous update, I’m happy to confirm that works are progressing as planned and I can report the following achievements made by the Site Team: - The HST has passed the water test. All concrete chambers are installed awaiting completion. We have commenced the ductile iron work from the pumping station. The NPG kiosk is now installed. We have commenced the MCC trough, this sits underneath the MCC panel and houses all the new cables. We are hoping to have all excavation works complete prior to the Xmas break, with sub-contractors starting in the new year. Go Vocal Admin1 year ago I thought I’d add an update to share with you the great progress that has been made on Site recently, I have quite a lot to tell you!Pumping stationThe team have installed the 1050 ring and benched, and mass poured surround and built up the rings in for the pumping station to 3.75m.6 rings in total have been installed and concreted in and all rings have now been surrounded with concrete along with 45M concrete used to surround the rings for the pumping station.HSTThe concrete surround has been poured up to 600mm below finished level and we have removed TW from the HST area.We have barriered and added signage to create an exclusion zone.Pipework from HST to pumping station inletThe pipe work has been installed and backfilled using pipe bedding from HST to first manhole.We have also installed the manhole and concreted this in and have connected the pipework either side of manhole.Pipework excavation has been completed to allow works to carry on from manhole towards pumping station inlet.DUCTSWe have installed ducts from the NPG to existing chamber near new SR pumping station.As always, should you have any questions that you’d like to ask us, please add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond as soon as possible.
