Bishop Auckland Wastewater Treatment Works
Project Overview
As part of our ongoing investment in the region's wastewater network, we'll be carrying out improvement work at Bishop Auckland Sewage Treatment Works.
The project will include the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing facilities, helping us to improve the way wastewater is treated before it is safely returned to the environment.
These improvements will help reduce the amount of phosphorus entering local rivers. High levels of phosphorus can encourage excessive algae growth, which can affect water quality and make it harder for wildlife and plants to thrive.
By carrying out these upgrades, we're helping to improve river health and support a cleaner, healthier environment for local communities and wildlife.
