Community Hub Admin Team 1 week ago Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our first update since Esh-Stantec began establishing the site working area.Since 29 June, our teams have been working hard setting up the site compound and associated working areas. During the first week, site cabins and generators were delivered, and perimeter fencing was installed to secure the site.We are committed to keeping disruption to the local community to an absolute minimum. To help achieve this, we have implemented a solar-powered battery generator, which will significantly reduce the amount of time the generator is required to operate. The generator is programmed to run only during working hours, between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.This week, work has continued completing the site compound, and construction of the access ramp and haul road to the beach is now underway.We recognise that the delivery of the excavator resulted in some temporary delays along Dunstanburgh Road while the machine was unloaded and moved safely into the site. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and would like to thank residents and road users for their continued patience and understanding.We will continue to provide weekly updates as the project progresses and appreciate the community's ongoing support. Community Hub Admin Team 3 weeks ago 👋 Welcome! We would like to introduce a new project in Guisborough to improve Storm Overflows in your community. We're investing approximately £1.8 million in Guisborough to reduce storm overflow spills from Tudor Croft and Park Lane, helping to protect Hutton Beck and Chapel Beck.The scheme is expected to reduce spills by more than 80%, cutting them to fewer than ten per year on average over a ten-year period.Follow this Community Hub page for further details and if you have any questions you can comment on this post below.

Community Hub Admin Team 3 weeks ago Hi everyone, Howdon Sewage Treatment Works is a major wastewater treatment site and we are in the planning stages of a significant investment programme for the site.A detailed level of project definition works has already been completed, which we sought customer views on at the time. Over the next twelve months we will be working with key regulatory stakeholders to ensure the solution we’ve defined remains appropriate to meet the wastewater treatment requirements we need to achieve, while ensuring this is affordable for our customers. This work is being led by our Capital Delivery Major Projects team, and we are expecting this to represent a multi-million pound investment programme for the site. While this is currently in its early stages, our dates here reflect our current forecast delivery expectations which we will update should anything change.We will continue to post updates as we continue to work on our solution, and look forward to re-engaging with customers and stakeholders as we progress.Thank you, The Project Team

It was great to meet you in person, introduce members of the team, and answer your questions about the upcoming work.Your questions have been noted, and we will be sharing further information with the Parish Council over the next couple of weeks.We had originally planned to begin mobilising our working area on the 8th June. Community Hub Admin Team 1 month ago 🚧 Important update about planned work in your areaAt Northumbrian Water, we’re committed to protecting the environment 🌱 and making sure our sewer network works reliably for our customers.Following earlier surveys, we’ll soon be carrying out some further investigation work in your area.What will this involve? 🔍 Digging a small number of trial holes in the field at The Wynd and to the rear of Brakenbeds Close. This helps us understand ground conditions and plan the best long-term solution. 🔧 Carrying out a drain survey, which involves lifting a small number of manhole covers to inspect the network.✅ There will be no impact to Brakenbeds Close as part of these works.Our partners AVOVE and MGL will be carrying out this work on our behalf.📅 When will the work take place? Work is planned to start from Monday 22 June and will last approximately one week, between 8:00am and 4:00pm.We’ll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum. You may notice some noise and dust, but we’ll keep this as low as possible. 🏡 Access to homes will be maintained at all times.🚚 You may also see a slight increase in vehicle movements, particularly during site set-up. Community Hub Admin Team 1 month ago Hi everyoneWe'd like to inform you of a temporary road closure currently in place on Dock Road due to safety concerns identified during ongoing construction works.Over the weekend on Sunday 7 June 2026, it was discovered that a section of the road had become undermined adjacent to the active traffic lane. In the interest of public safety, works were immediately halted and a decision was taken to implement a road closure while the situation is assessed and stabilised.Our Partner is currently reviewing the condition of the affected area and arranging the necessary measures, such as ground support and temporary protection, before it is safe to reopen the road.We appreciate that this may cause inconvenience, and we are working to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. Community Hub Admin Team 1 month ago Hi everyoneWe would like to share an update on the progress of the Northumbria Integrated Drainage Partnership (NIDP). Over the past year, we alongside our delivery partner, Seymour Civil Engineering have been carrying out detailed investigations of the wastewater network in and around The Leas, Cragside and The Meadows areas. This important work has taken longer than initially anticipated; however, it has enabled us to develop plans that we are confident will deliver a safe and sustainable solution to help reduce flood risk and support the community in the long term.What will happenWe are now ready to begin work on site within the estate. This will include the installation of new wastewater infrastructure, which will be delivered in three phases to help minimise disruption. Each phase will require a temporary road closure on sections of the carriageway, which will restrict vehicle access on the dates shown below. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Phase 1: Works will take place in The Leas cul‑de‑sac from 13 July 2026 to 4 December 2026. Phase 2: Works will move onto the main section of The Leas (turning left from the cul‑de‑sac) from 18 October 2026 to 4 December 2026. Phase 3: The final phase will progress along The Leas to the right of the cul‑de‑sac from 1 December 2026 to 29 January 2027. We would like to invite you to attend a customer information event. This will take place at Sedgefield Cricket Club, Station Road, Sedgefield, TS21 2BY, on 11 June 2026 between 16:30 and 18:30. At the event, we will provide further details about the planned works, including road closures and the installation of the rain gardens. Community Hub Admin Team 2 months ago Hi everyone, We’d like to let residents know that Esh Stantec will be carrying out a vehicle trial along Dunstanburgh Road on Wednesday 13 May, between 10.30am and 11.30am.The trial will use the wagons proposed for our upcoming works. We have arranged with MGL, who operate the wagons from Longhoughton Quarry, to drive along Dunstanburgh Road and, where possible, carry out a three‑point turn at the access to the North Pier of the harbour, before returning along Dunstanburgh Road.If a three‑point turn cannot be safely carried out, the wagon may need to reverse out under the supervision of a vehicle marshal.We kindly ask pedestrians and road users to remain vigilant during this time, and we thank you for your cooperation.You will shortly receive a letter inviting you to attend the parish council meeting at 6pm on Thursday 28 May, at Craster Memorial Hall, Whin Hill, Craster, NE66 3TP. These works involve renewing control valves that allow us to safely manage water levels in an emergency and ensure the continued reliability of the reservoir.To carry out part of this work safely, our supply partner Esh Stantec will need to implement a temporary road closure on the B6309 Welton to Whittle Dene Reservoir Road. The closure will be in place from 22 June 2026 to 11 September 2026 to allow the safe setup of a compound area.A clearly signed diversion route will be in place, and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Community Hub Admin Team 2 months ago Hi everyone, We have recently installed additional flow monitors on our wastewater network in the Sedgeletch area, enhancing the monitoring already in place. These monitors are used to measure flow rates within the network, helping us to better understand how frequently discharges occur into local waterways in line with our Environmental Permit conditions set by the Environment Agency.The purpose of this enhanced monitoring is to collect more comprehensive data, enabling us to further strengthen our understanding of network capacity. This information is essential in informing the development of future improvement plans and models aimed at reducing storm overflow (SO) discharges and delivering environmental improvements across the Westbourne Drive and Shiney Row catchment areas.Please be assured that the installation and operation of these additional monitors will not impact the wastewater services we provide to you, and there is no requirement for our teams to access your home.Thank you, The Project Team

Prior to the main work - which will begin in Spring 2027, Our partners, Avove (& Dunelm) and Esh Stantec (& Ian Farmers) who are working on our behalf, will be digging some boreholes and trial holes across the Berwick catchment to provide vital information about ground conditions in the areas we will be constructing.This will take place between 1st June 2026 and 14th August 2026.Some of the boreholes and trial holes will be within the highway and will need traffic management.
