Welcome to the Tursdale Sewer Network Improvements Community Hub Page.
I would like to introduce myself. I am Rowena Usher - Northumbrian Water’s Project Manager and I will be looking after this project through to its completion.
At this current stage our partners are in the process of preparing and installing the site compound prior to the Christmas period to make every effort to minimise disruption to the local community.
Construction activities are due to commence from the 5th January 2026 and are expected to last 16 weeks to complete. As with all large-scale construction projects, unexpected delays can sometimes happen, so it could take longer. We’ll keep you updated of any changes
These works are part of our ongoing efforts to reduce the risk of pollution incidents and build resilience into the local wastewater network in your area. This will involve installing 280m (metres) of new sewer pipeline along Thinford Road and connecting the local catchment to the main sewer network.
The team will post regular updates in advance of and throughout the construction phase of the project.
