Important Information About upcoming site deliveries

We would like to make residents aware of some upcoming delivery activity associated with the environmental improvement works currently being undertaken within the field between The Wynd and Brackenbeds Close.

What will happen

As part of the ongoing site mobilisation works, we are expecting a number of deliveries to arrive at the site compound from Monday 24 August 2026.

The deliveries will include three wagons transporting site cabins and associated equipment required to support the construction works. The first wagon is expected to arrive between 8:00am and 9:00am, with delivery activities taking place between 8:00am and 4:00pm over a period of approximately two days.

The wagons will arrive using a combination of convoy and turnaround deliveries and will access the site via The Wynd.

How will I be affected

Since construction work began, we have noticed an increasing number of vehicles parked along both sides of The Wynd, particularly near the entrance to our site compound. This access route is essential to ensure delivery vehicles can enter and leave the site safely. We would therefore be grateful if residents and visitors could help by keeping this area as clear as possible whenever they can.

From the letter from yourselves about the initial works, it states no construction work will happen before 8am. Today, construction work has started around 7:40 am. Can you confirm the working hours on the site?

@Ashley Roberts Hi Ashley, thank you for making us aware of your concerns regarding the working times of our teams onsite at Elwin place carrying out environmental improvement works in Pelton. I can confirm that the approved working hours for this scheme are 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. To better understand the concerns you raised, I have spoken with the site team this morning. They have advised that the Site Manager arrived shortly before 7:00am to prepare for the day's activities and meet the workforce, who typically arrive between 7:00am and 7:30am. A daily team briefing was then held between approximately 7:30am and 7:40am. Following the briefing, the site generator was started at roughly 7:45 to enable noise level testing to be carried out. The team has confirmed that construction work itself did not commence until 8:00am. We have reiterated that no construction activities should begin before the agreed start time of 8:00am. However, there may be some site-related activity before this time as teams prepare for the working day ahead. I hope this information is helpful and provides reassurance. However, if you continue to experience any issues or have further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. @Ashley Roberts Hello Ashley, following receipt of your enquiry, we have spoken with our delivery partners Avove to remind them of the agreed working hours and to ensure these are strictly adhered to. Construction works are not scheduled to commence before 8:00am, and we have reinforced this requirement with the site team to help prevent any further concerns. Will the field behind the wynd be returned to its original state once work is complete?

@N D Hi thank you for your message and time waiting for our response. We can confirm that, once our work is fully completed, the works compound area will be decommissioned. The field will then be backfilled, reinstated and grass seeded to return it to its original condition. Thank you, The Project Team.
