Project Update Tuesday 21 July 2026
From "Whittle Dene Reservoir Improvements"
Go to the project
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our first update since Esh-Stantec began establishing the site working area.
Over the past month, the dive team has successfully completed the de-silting works, and the stop logs have now been measured. The road closure has been temporarily removed, allowing normal access to resume.
To enable the remaining works to be completed safely, the road will close again from 31st August until the end of September. We will provide a further reminder before the closure is reinstated.
A filtered drain has now been installed adjacent to the Great Southern Reservoir. A thrust block has also been installed to facilitate the removal and repair of the vent pipe in the lower sub-basin.
Progress on this section of the project has been slower than anticipated due to difficult access and challenging ground conditions but works continue to move forward.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding while these essential improvement works are carried out. We’ll continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
Thank you
The Project Team
