Hello everyone,

We hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend.

Work has continued to progress well with the erosion protection measures along the bankside. The team recently visited Longhoughton Quarry to inspect the stone being used and has continued preparing the bankside for the installation works.

New filter stone and larger protective stone have now been placed along the southern section of the bankside, with approximately 40% of this area completed.

Filling works have also progressed across the northern section, helping to stabilise the bankside. In addition, the team has continued removing sections of the existing concrete along the bankside using specialist equipment.

Looking ahead

Works will continue progressively northwards, with the installation of filter material and protective stone.

Where required, vegetation will also begin to be removed from the top of the bank. Vegetation reinstatement will then take place across completed sections as the works progress.

Residents whose gardens require access will be contacted shortly before the work is due to take place.
