Project Update Monday 3 August 2026

From "Craster Bankside Improvements"

Hello,

We hope you all enjoyed the RNLI fundraising event. ⚓️🎉

Following the event, the site compound and fencing were reinstated last week, and work on site is continuing.

With confirmation that the sand martins have now fledged, work has recommenced on site. The excavator has been fitted with a grab attachment to enable the movement and placement of the large rock armour stones.

This week, the team will be using specialist equipment to break out the existing rock to form the toe of the proposed revetment, an important stage in preparing the coastal defence structure.

During this work, there may be an increase in noise levels. We will continue to work hard to minimise disruption while these activities are carried out.

Large boulders and concrete have been moved from the foreshore to behind the harbour wall, and the access ramp and road have now been completed along the full length of the proposed revetment.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you for your continued patience.
