Project Update from 17/12/2024

This month we have completed both the primary settlement tank and the humus settlement tank with flows now diverted through these new assets allowing us to start repurposing the old tanks as a storm tank and pumping station respectively. The site returns pumping station is also fully operational now and with the help of Northern power grid we have upgraded the site electricity supply to three phase power meaning the site and temporary cabins can run without the use of generators from now on.

 The Mecana units which use a cloth type filter to treat the effluent prior to releasing back to the environment have been now been delivered with a view to put flows through these and the Soneco electrocoagulation filters before the end of the year, meaning lower phosphorus levels in the final effluent. We have had a very productive year with much of the new treatment facilities up and running, however, there is still further work to be completed in the new year such as the construction of the new sludge tank and modifications to existing assets to create more storm storage.
