Project Update 23 June 2026

Thanks for your patience whilst we work to finalise.

We'd like to provide an update on the temporary road closure currently in place on Dock Road following safety concerns identified during our ongoing construction works.

During works carried out on Sunday 7 June 2026, it was discovered that a section of the road had become undermined adjacent to the active traffic lane. In the interest of public safety, works were immediately halted and a road closure was implemented while the affected area could be assessed and stabilised.

Our contractor has been carrying out the necessary investigations and remedial works, including implementing ground support and temporary protection measures to reinstate the affected section safely.

We're pleased to advise that progress is continuing as planned, and we currently anticipate that all works on Dock Road will be completed and the road closure removed by Sunday 28 June 2026, subject to weather conditions and any unforeseen circumstances.

We appreciate the inconvenience this closure may have caused and would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding while these important safety works are completed. Further updates will be provided should there be any changes to the programme.
