Project Update 19/01/2026

From "Coundon Burn Sewer"

Go to the project

Hi everyone,

Please see below progress of works at Coundon Burn.

The transfer of flows have now been completed to the South side of Coundon Burn watercourse. The new section of sewer is now operational between manholes 8501 and 7501.

Pumping to the South side of Coundon Burn watercourse has been collected from the field and removed off site.

The South side of Coundon Burn has partially been reinstated. At present, subsoil ripped and topsoil replaced from the storage heaps. Landscape contractor is to rotavate and seed all grass areas once the weather conditions improve.

The Dutch Ford crossing structure has been removed from Coundon Burn Watercourse and the embankments have now been reinstated.

Inspection of the new drainage runs and Stormwater Tank to the North side of Coundon Burn are ongoing.

The approval of the drainage runs will allow amendments to benching upstream in manhole 9501 and therefore transfer of flows into the Northern sewer. The new flow will tie-into the existing sewer at MH01 within the ancient woodland.
