I would like to introduce myself. I am Rowena Usher - Northumbrian Water’s Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to its completion. At this early stage, we will be carrying out survey work along the coastline adjacent to Dunstanburgh Road and along W End Road following the route of the current underground network. This will help us plan the most suitable solution with a detailed understanding of the physical and natural environment.
Once we have more clarification about the proposed solution, we will provide updates on our plans and proposals with you on this Community Hub.
Subject to approvals, we expect to begin construction work in Autumn 2026. The team will post regular updates in advance of and throughout the construction phase of the project.
