Hi everyone
This is a work progress update:
Work at the site is continuing to progress well, with a number of important activities now completed.
Temporary welfare facilities have been installed, and measures are in place to minimise disturbance to local wildlife. New fencing has also been installed around the site, while the existing public footpath remains open.
As part of the works, several rare waxcap mushrooms were carefully relocated to allow the construction works to proceed.
The haul roads required for the next phase of construction have now been completed and tested, ready for the arrival of the crawler crane. The section of limestone wall has also been carefully dismantled and stored, ready to be reinstated at a later stage.
Preparations are also underway for the next stage of the project, with reservoir levels being reduced to allow construction work on the wet-side foundations to begin.
