I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our team. I am Cath Kirkland, a Northumbrian Water Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to its completion. The scheme will be delivered by Northumbrian Water’s delivery partner MMB (Mott MacDonald Bentley).
We are working with communities to proactively manage environmental risk and are committed to providing a high-quality service. The project is catchment wide, we will be improving the performance of five Storm overflows and one pumping station. The initial investigation commenced in April 2025 working towards the construction phase of this project currently anticipated in the Autumn 2026 with completion no later than March 2030. The duration of work on the individual Storm Overflows will be notified in due course.
We will be keeping you updated as our plans progress by sharing our proposals with you on this Hub. The project team will be working in partnership with all our external stakeholders to ensure a successful project outcome.
