Project Update 11 August 2026

Hi everyone

Northumbrian Water is committed to reducing storm overflow discharges, to improve local water courses, and protect the environment for future generations.

To help us better understand the sewer network, we will be carrying out connectivity surveys in your area on 13 August between the hours of 8:30 - 17:00. The surveys will include lifting manhole covers and using sound testing to verify connections. Works will be carried out at a number of manholes located along The Wynd, in the lane adjacent to the allotments. Please refer to the attached map for details of the survey locations.

Please accept this information of an introduction for a survey team from Avove and GeeDee Plant to conduct this work on our behalf.

To help us carry out this work smoothly, we kindly ask that you avoid parking vehicles over manhole covers during this time. This will ensure our teams can access all the necessary areas.

Employees of Northumbrian Water, Avove or GeeDee Plant will not require access to your property at any time during work.
