🚧 Important update about planned work in your area
At Northumbrian Water, we’re committed to protecting the environment 🌱 and making sure our sewer network works reliably for our customers.
Following earlier surveys, we’ll soon be carrying out some further investigation work in your area.
What will this involve? 🔍
Digging a small number of trial holes in the field at The Wynd and to the rear of Brakenbeds Close. This helps us understand ground conditions and plan the best long-term solution.
🔧 Carrying out a drain survey, which involves lifting a small number of manhole covers to inspect the network.
✅ There will be no impact to Brakenbeds Close as part of these works.
Our partners AVOVE and MGL will be carrying out this work on our behalf.
📅 When will the work take place?
Work is planned to start from Monday 22 June and will last approximately one week, between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
We’ll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum. You may notice some noise and dust, but we’ll keep this as low as possible.
🏡 Access to homes will be maintained at all times.
🚚 You may also see a slight increase in vehicle movements, particularly during site set-up. We’d appreciate your support in keeping roads accessible so our teams can work safely and efficiently.
🔮 Looking ahead
We’re currently planning the next phase of the project, with main construction expected to begin in summer 2026. You may see temporary site set-up, including welfare cabins, in the field.
We’ll share further updates and confirm timings closer to the start of these works.
