Go to the project

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

As we continue with the setup of our Site Compound, please be aware that cabin deliveries are scheduled for Wednesday. This may result in increased traffic around the area, but we will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum.

If you have any questions regarding the project, please feel free to comment below and a member of the project team will be happy to respond.

Speak soon, and have a great week.

The Project Team

I appreciate that during the works at Heselden Dene you would like users of the cycleway to avoid the area. However recently road vehicles (not just motorbikes and quadbikes) have come from Heselden along the cycleway as far as the A19 bridge. They have churned up the path to such an extent that the path is now flooding and very muddy. It makes it very difficult for walkers to go west from Castle Eden and avoid your works, as you request. I spoke to two of your contractors from Bentley who say it was not their vehicles. They are laying hardcore from Heselden towards Castle Eden but only as far as they need for access. They did comment that contractors from Esh and Selwood (both also your contractors) have been active along the cycleway recently and it may have been them. However if you wish pedestrians and cyclists to avoid walking near your works whenever possible I think the contractors who have caused this damage should repair it so that the alternative westward path is both safe and in reasonable condition for users.

Good afternoon, Neil Thank you for getting in touch. We appreciate your feedback and have carefully reviewed the points you raised regarding the condition of the cycle path from Castle Eden heading west towards the A19 bridge. Following our review, and after consulting with our site team from MMB, Esh and Selwood, we can confirm that this location falls outside the areas required for vehicular access as part of the Hesleden Dene Pipe Bridge replacement scheme. We will be uploading a drawing to the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section of the Community Hub, highlighting the working area along the Hart to Haswell walkway during the project, to help show where we will be operating. If there’s anything else you’d like to ask or if you need further support, please feel free to contact us - we’re always happy to help. Thank you again. The Project Team
