Project Update 06/05/2025

From "Burn Road Sea Outfall Repairs"

Go to the project

Hello All,

The team are currently breaking out and removing all worn and broken concrete from the top and sides of the short sea outfall. They will then fill in the holes using concrete, paired with basalt, light weight dowel bars and mesh (very light, but very resistant to salt water.) Work will then be bonded to form a very strong watertight seal.

Work on the long sea outfall has begun with the renewal of the upper and lower supports that straddle the pipe leading into the sea. This involves cutting and removing the existing wooden supports off the piles and replacing with new galvanised supports. Starting Monday 12 May 2025, 3 encapsulating collars will be installed. These collars are large metal rings that will cover the pipe.

Should you have any questions please comment on this page or contacts us at NWL.Customer@esh.uk.com.

Thank you for your time.
