Project Update 05/09/2025
From "Pelton Environmental Improvements"
Go to the project
Hi all,
Important update on improvement works in your area
We recently contacted you regarding improvement works as part of our continued investment to protect and enhance the environment. This project involves upgrading our existing sewer network to help reduce environmental spills and ensure a more resilient infrastructure for the future.
We are pleased to confirm that construction has now commenced, and traffic management is currently in place on Pelton Lane and Brackenbeds Close. This will remain in place until Tuesday 3 September 2025 to safely facilitate the work while minimising disruption to the community.
Working alongside our supply partner, Avove the site compound has been established in nearby farmland off Brackenbeds Lane.
During this time, you may notice increased activity in the area, including additional vehicles and some noise associated with the site operations. Typical working hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Additional Weekend Working
Due to challenging drilling conditions, we have made the decision to extend the additional work into the weekend of 31 August 2025 on Pelton Lane to enable temporary traffic lights to be removed. Weekend working hours will be from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
During this time, you may notice increased activity in the area, including additional vehicles and some noise associated with the site operations. We sincerely thank you for your understanding. This decision has been made to help ensure the project is completed in the original time frame and to minimise any further delays.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we carry out these essential improvements.

Please be aware that bogus callers, people who claim to be employed by Northumbrian Water or ‘the water board, but who are only interested in stealing from your home, are known to operate in our supply area. All our employees carry official identity cards which we strongly advise you to check before letting anyone into your home.
If you are in any doubt about the validity of a caller claiming to be from Northumbrian Water do not let them into your property. Call the police immediately to report this, or our Customer Centre on 0345 717 1100 to confirm they are genuine. Our employees will not object to waiting outside while you conduct these checks. For extra peace of mind customers can register a password with us – if we need access to your home we will know and use this word.
